Ivan C. Smick, age 86, passed away Friday, July 31, 2020, surrounded by his family at the Salem Medical Center.
The son of the late Herbert Smick and Harriet Smick (Pierson), was born Aug 31, 1933 in Alloway, NJ. Ivan was predeceased by his wife, Carol Jean (Funk) and a brother, Wesley Smick. Ivan is survived by a sister, Alice Puckett of Richmond, VA; a brother, Willis Smick (May) of Thorofare, NJ, and a sister Eleanor Crouse (Edward) of Sparta, NC.

He is also survived by his children: Marilyn Powell (Fred) of Williamstown, NJ; Diane Robbins (Mark) of Salem, NJ; Bryan Smick (Beth) of Woodstown, NJ and Dan Smick (Debbi) of Alloway, NJ. He leaves behind his loving, long-time companion, Nancy Mack of Williamstown, NJ. Grandfather to Natalie Lebb (Rob), Freddy Powell III (Stephanie), Katie Robbins, Jackie Robbins, Jonathan Robbins, Drew Smick and Danielle Smick. Great-grandfather to Wyatt Powell and future Baby Lebb. Uncle to many nieces and nephews, Ivan & Carol Jean raised nephew Ruben R. Seda Morales and nieces, Carmen Seda Morales, Margaret DeAngelo & Donna Bagnole.

Ivan was a 1951 graduate of Swedesboro High School and a longtime resident of Pilesgrove. He worked as an instrument mechanic for 33 years at DuPonts Chamber Works as well as Chrysler Corp and Johnson Matthey. Ivan was a lifelong baseball and devoted Phillies fan. He played for and managed the Woodstown Merchants in the Salem County League for over 35 years; helping to coach his son's 1981 undefeated Woodstown Teenager League team. He was also an avid deer hunter and belonged to the Landowners, Turtle Neck Acres and Deep Run Hunting Clubs. Ivan frequently took hunting trips to Maine and North Carolina.

A private family viewing will be held on Friday, August 7, 2020. All are welcome to attend public graveside services beginning at 11:30 am on Friday at Lawnside Cemetery in Woodstown, NJ.
