Death of Rufus Alden.
Rufus Alden died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. John Kingsley, at 11:30 o'clock last Monday evening. Mr. Alden had been an invalid for some time but the last fatal illness lasted only a few days. The deceased was born in the state of New York in 1833. He came to Chatfield in 1866 and resided here since then with the exception of about six years, when he lived in Pilot Mound and was engaged in the milling business there with his son-in-law Henry Kingsley. Three or four yeas ago he disposed of his interest in the mill there and returned to Chatfield. The deceased was highly esteemed as a worthy citizen who honorably filled the position in life to which he had been called. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. John Kingsley and Mrs. Henry Kingsley. The funeral will take place at 2 o'clock this Thursday afternoon.
