Fred C. Locey, 76, of Dickson City, died Sunday evening in the Hospice Unit at Mercy Hospital. He and his wife, the former June Mazaika, would have celebrated 24 years of marriage in August. Born in Massena, N.Y., son of the late Arnold and Lena Lama Locey, he was a member of St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City. He attended school in Ogdensburg, N.Y., and enlisted in the Army. He served with the 25th Infantry on three tours of duty in Korea. He received the Purple Heart for wounds he received, along with the Occupation Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal with 5 Bronze Stars, and the United Nations Service Medal. He was a member of American Legion Post 665, Dickson City. He was a self-employed roofer and siding contractor. He was also employed for 10 years by Sugerman's as a security guard and later by Wegmans and Wal-Mart. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Arthur, George, Walter, Wilford and Leo, and two sisters, Doris and Leona. The funeral with military honors will be Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Visitation Church. Cremation, Maple Hill Crematory. Living relatives deleted.
