John P. Balestreri , 83, northeast Kansas City, MO, passed away Sunday, October 3, 1999, at Trinity Lutheran Hospital. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 318 Benton Blvd.; entombment in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Passantino Bros. Chapel, where the rosary will be said at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Anthony Parish.
Mr. Balestreri was born September 10, 1916, in Kansas City, MO. He was a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for 24 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, and was a member of the CampoManfre-Barbieri Post 151, of the American Legion, and the Cardinal Glennon Council of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed painting as his hobby. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Mary Balestreri .
