FUNERAL FOR MRS. GREENE TO BE ON FRIDAY
Mrs. John Bradley Greene, 79, prominent Dayton resident and member of a pioneer Dayton family, died Tuesday night at her home, 1139 Rubicon rd., Oakwood, after an illness of but four or five days.
Funeral services will be conducted from the residence Friday at 10 a.m., Rev. Hugh I. Evans officiating, with burial in Woodland cemetery.
Mrs. Greene was born in Dayton in 1856, the daughter of George W. and Mary Perrine Shaw. Her mother was the oldest daughter of James and Mary Darst Perrine, early southwestern Ohio settlers.
She was married to John Bradley Greene of Buffalo, N.Y., in 1880 and lived in that city until 1900 when she returned to Dayton, remaining here until her death.
In her youth, Mrs. Greene at tended Miss Graham’s girls school in New York.
A member of a number of clubs and organizations, she was active in civic work and lent her influence and time to aid in the development of Dayton.
She is survived by eight grandchildren, Mrs. Henry Offut of Louisville, Ky.; John, Keturah and Katherine Brenner, John Bradley Greene, II, Henry Talbott Greene, George Shaw Greene, jr., and Daisy Talbott Greenl one brother, George G. Shaw; a sister, Mrs. Harrie G. Carnell; a son-in-law, Walter M. Brenner, and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. George Shaw Greene.
