Ova Ellis Alexander, 78, of Route 1, Brownsville, died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, (1977) at his residence. / The Edmonson County native was a retired engineer with 47 years service with the L & N Railroad. He was a World War I veteran. / Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday Feb. 5, at Gravil Funeral Home by the Rev. Herbert Logsdon. Burial was in Alexander Cemetery. / Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Connie Goff Alexander; three daughters, Mrs. Helen VanMeter, Leitchfield, Mrs. Marian Jones, Potomac, Md. And Mrs. Dorothy McMillen, Wilmore; three sons, William E. and James G. Alexander, both of Louisville; and Joseph B. Alexander, Greenfield, Mass.; four sisters, Mrs. Velma Genovely and Mrs. Olis Vaughn, both of Louisville, Mrs. Loretta Ham, Hendersonville, Tenn., and Mrs Onis Duvall, Brownsville; two brothers, Lowell Connell Alexander, Winston-Salem, N.C. and Elliott Alexander, Gretna, La.; 13 grandchildren and three great-grand-children.
