Harvey B. Simmons, Sr. went to be with the Lord, Saturday March 8, 1997, in his home at the age of 79. He had been a resident of Sapulpa for 46 years, retiring from Liberty Glass Company in 1979 after 32 years of service.

He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, and served in the U. S. Army Pacific Operation during World War II, earning two Good Conduct Medals, Unit Ribbon with Bronze Star and Combat Infantryman's badge.

Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife Fern, son Harvey and daughter Ann, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. His youngest daughter Gloria Louise is deceased since 1993. Mr. Simmons was the fourth of nine children born to Harvey Elmer Simmons and Elizabeth Chennault. His siblings were; Buddy, Thelma, Gladys, Amos, Wanda, Natalie, Gilbert and June.
