Flora Whitten Strangman of Sanford, Fl. passed away to her eternal home with Jesus on February 19, 2019. She was born in Americus, Georgia on August 9, 1923 to her father and mother, Clifford Clay and Berta Bedenbaugh. Flora graduated from Oviedo High School in Oviedo, FL. Young and in Love, Flora was married to Harry Donald Whitten on September 28, 1941, until Donald passed away on September 23, 1979. She spent 37 wonderful years with him and together they raised four children, three girls and one son. Their first child, Travis Clay, was stillborn. Flora married again on April 11, 1986, to Tony Altobello and spent eleven great years with him until he passed away on March 29, 1997. On June 17, 2006, Flora married LeRoy Strangman whom she remained with until her passing. LeRoy has been such a blessing to have loved and taken care of her during this time. Flora was a member of the Sanford Church of God (Now RiverWalk Church of God) throughout her marriages and now she has been promoted to her Heavenly Home. Flora worked as a Floral Designer and her talents were used many times over as she directed weddings, graduation banquets and wedding and baby showers. Her passion was serving the Lord. She directed many Christmas and Easter plays and was strong in her dedication to the church youth. Flora was survived by her husband, LeRoy Strangman, her children, Donald Whitten, Sharon Adams, Theressea (Teri) Leonard and Doneilda Branton, nine grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, eleven great great grandchildren, six step children, and eight step-grandchildren and her two sisters, Ann Gracey and Anna Albritton. Visitation will be held on February 23, 2019, from 10:00 - 12:00 Noon and the Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 Noon at the RiverWalk Church of God, 801 W. 22nd St., Sanford, Fl., 32771.
