She graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1958. Jeane began her career as a switchboard operator at Sears Roebuck and retired as an auto-center supervisor. She also worked at Middlekauff Motors and retired at the age of 71 for First Data, all of Hagerstown. Currently Ms. Shindle attended Ebenezer United Brethern Church, Greencastle. Formerly, she attended St. Paul’s Church, Clear Spring, where she taught Sunday School during her childrens’ early years.
Jeane is survived by her children, Robin D. Awon, Daniel R.Shindle, and David A. Shindle; six grandchildren Renee N. Thompson, Rachel M. Crowell, Rohn M. Strubel, and Carrie L., Christopher T. and Michaela R. Shindle; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as her brother Ned D. Robingson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeane was preceded in death by her siblings Vera V. Marker, Leroy M. and Victor C. Robinson, Charlotte B. Hamby, Guy F. Robinson, who lost his life in the battle of Iwo Jima, and Grace E. Linebaugh.
The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, is handling the arrangements. Graveside service at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Clear Spring.
