Census or Enumeration of Confederate Veterans Residing in Alabama, 1907. Allison Woodville Baker, Present Post Office: New Market, Alabama, was born on March 18, 1838 in Madison County, Alabama; first entered service as Private in August, 1861 at Huntsville, Alabama the Co. K, Forests Regiment and continued until latter part of 1862 the consolidated with Russell's Regiment which was 4th Alabama was captured in 1863 in East Tennessee, was sent to Rock Island, Illinois prison and remained until the surrender May 1865.

The Huntsville Weekly Democrat, Huntsville, Alabama, Wednesday January 23, 1918. Allison W. Baker Dead. Allison W. Baker, a well-known citizen of the New Market precinct, died at his home there yesterday after a long illness. He was 80 years old.
