Mary Jane was born in Wayne Co. Kentucky.

She was the 2nd child of 14 born to Benjamin Hinds Sen. & Nancy Jane Bond.

She married William F. Stephens in Saline, Miller Co. Missouri on December 14, 1848.

They had 2 children, William B. Stephens and Isaac M. Stephens.

Mary Jane died at the the age of 24.

William, Mary Jane's husband, remarried in 1854 to Rhoda Hinds, Mary Jane's sister.
