Dorothy was born in the "Rose House" on the battlefield of Gettysburg. At the time of the battle, Mr. Rose owned and occupied the Rose House," also the farm surrounding it, which included the famous "wheat field" and "bloody pool," where the hardest fighting of the battle occurred.
She is entombed with her husband in the Mausoleum at the Green Mount Cemetery in Baltimore.
