Son of John and Elizabeth (Cole) Redgrave.

"Samuel Cole Redgrave, one of the oldest and best known business men of Wayne County, died in Lyons suddenly Sept. 19 from neuralgia of the heart after a short illness. For a long time he complained of heart trouble. Deceased was born in Baltimore, Maryland, April 17, 1836, and was a son of John Redgrave, who died In 1840. His mother moved to Lyons after her husband's death, a brother, William N. Cole, running, a paper there. Deceased leaves a wife and two daughters. He carried a heavy life insurance." "Samuel C. Redgrave, the well known hardware merchant of Lyons, died suddenly yesterday morning of heart disease, aged 64 years. He was awakened about five-o'clock by intense pain in the region of the heart and a physician was called who succeeded in relieving the pain. Mr. Redgrave went to sleep and about 8 o'clock was found dead. He had been suffering from neurological pains tor several days and expressed the fear that his death would occur suddenly."
