A native and lifelong resident of Mechanicville, born April 15, 1924, daughter of the late Edward and Monica Casey Holland.
Also known as "Ginny" by family and friends, she was a 1941 graduate of Mechanicville High School, and had also attended Mildred Elly Bus. School.
For many years Ginny was a clerk for the NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation in Albany. Earlier in her career, she had worked for the Commerce and State Dept, before raising her family.
A fun person to be with, Ginny enjoyed arts and crafts, reading, a Cub Scout leader and PTA member, seeing Broadway shows, cruises and monthly poker club nites with her best girl friends. She was able to travel thru Europe and Ireland and much of the USA.
A member of Mechanicville and Halfmoon Senior Citizens, had an affection for the Mechanicville Area Community Service Center and their mission.
Also a communicant of All Saints on the Hudson Church.
Most of all, Ginny had lifes pleasure to enjoy and love her children, their families and her lifelong friends.
Predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Eugene "Dunny" Donahue, died April 15, 2000, and her brother Edward Holland.
Survivors include loving children: Timothy (Linda) Donahue of Mechanicville, Dorine "Pixie" Fuller and Jim Tansey of Kinderhook, Susan (Tim) Lesar of Round Lake and Maura (Jim) Pickett of Niskayuna. Treasured grandchildren: Eileen (John) Carlino, Casey (Kristen) Lesar, Tessa (Kevin) Trigonis, Michael Lesar, Liam, Jacob and Abigail Pickett, and treasured great grandchildren: Emily and Claire, Braydon, Cole, Conor and Kellen. Also sisters Doreen Holland Bivona, Patricia Fiorelli and Jack (Fran) Holland, along with nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
Burial to follow at Saratoga National Cemetery.
