Recommended for membership in Post 6 by Theodore Schweriner and dated 24 December 1884 age 44; born in New Jersey; residence Germantown; occupation letter carrier; enlisted 6 September 1861; discharged 17 September 1864 at Atlanta, GA.

Charles C. Crawford, aged 71 years, 340 East Haines street, August 1. He died in Mount Vernon, N. Y., while on a visit to a daughter. At one time he was a letter-carrier, and lately a gate-keeper at Girard College. In the Civil War he served in the Twenty-eighth Pennsylvania Volunteers. He attended the recent Gettysburg semi-centennial with Ellis Post, of which he was a member. He was a member of General Louis Wagner's Bible Class at Market Square Presbyterian Church for many years. A. widow and three daughters survive. The funeral was held at 6525 Germantown Ave. and interment was in Ivy Hill Cemetery.
