John P. Yung, 74, a longtime resident at Danbury , died Wednesday at an Ida Grove, Iowa, nursing home after a long illness.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Danbury. Rev. Ricard V. Sweeney will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at Danbury.
The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday at the Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton, Iowa.
Mr. Yung was born September 30, 1891 in Luxembourg. He came to the U.S. in 1913 and resided in the Woonsocket, S.D. community before coming to Danbury in 1927.
He married Anna Grubauer May 14, 1917 at Woonsocket. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Danbury, and had been a carpenter.
Survivors include the widow; a son Albert in the U.S. Army in Washington, D.C. and two daughter, Mrs. Ben Wisner of El Paso, Tex, and Mrs. Keith Abbott of Columbus, Neb.
