Wallace C. Alward, 81, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, at Friendship Manor in Rock Island.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Finefrock-Williams Funeral Home, Mansfield, Ohio, with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial is in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
He was born Dec. 16, 1916, in Havelock, New Brunswick, to Weldon and Wavie Carson Alward.
He was a carpenter, building bridges for Horvitz Construction Company for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Audrey N. MacLeod Alward; sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Kazi Alward, Iowa City, Peter and Kelly Alward, Moline; daughters and sons-in-law, Heather and Terry Irwin, Alameda, Calif., Susan and Lloyd O'Dell, Twinsburg, Ohio, and Sarah and Mark Redding, Lexington, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
