ROSS GLEASON DIES IN G.R. WEDNESDAY
Ross Gleason, lifelong resident of Baldwin passed away at the Brown Nursing Home in Grand Rapids Wednesday evening where he had been taken the previous Saturday. Death was caused by a heart attack following a stroke the previous day. He was 67 years of age.
He was born January 21, 1886, Rossiter Patrick Gleason, the son of Mortimer and Kitty(McMahon)Gleason. His wife the former Lena Cook of Grand Rapids preceded him in death August 2, 1939.
Mr. Gleason had been a Justice of the Peace in this area for the past 20 years and Friend of the court from the time of its inception until about two years ago. He was also probation officer and a former correspondent for the Grand Rapids Press and the Ludington Daily News.
He is survived by a half brother, Jack Gleason of Grand Rapids and a half sister, Mrs. Betty Lockton of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Baldwin Congregational Church under the auspices of the Masonic Lodge of which he was a member. Buriel will be in Pleasant Plains Cemetery.
