Born Feb. 10, 1914, in London Mills to Dr. Clarence Ray and Eva Ogle Essex, she married Charles E. Bradbury in 1935. He died Dec. 9, 1941. She married George E. Moore on June 10, 1948, in Galesburg. He died Dec. 26, 1986. One daughter, Corrine McCarthy, four grandchildren, two sisters and three brothers also preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Walter Bradbury of Peoria and Charles "Gene" Bradbury of Manhattan, Mont.; two stepsons, Gilbert Moore of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Bill Moore of Cincinnati; one stepdaughter, Corrine McCarthy of Boston; 19 grandchildren and stepgrandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
She earned her bachelor's degree in teaching from Western Illinois University in Macomb, where she was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society. She taught at country schools and later third and fourth grades for the Knoxville School District.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Knoxville, its church circles and the United Methodist Women.
She was a member of Knox County Historical Sites Inc., Daughters of the American Revolution Leffingwell Chapter, Retired Teachers Association and Knoxville Women's Club.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at her church. The Rev. David Hultberg will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Thursday at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home. Burial will be in Knoxville Cemetery.
