Elizabeth was the daughter of Lewis and Malinda Hannah (Puffenberger) Simmons. In the 1840 Federal Census they lived in Pendleton County, Virginia. In 1850 they had moved to Highland County, but it is stated that both parents and children George W, Elizabeth, and Susan C (6)were born in Pendleton County. Daniel (3) and Margaret were born in Highland County. That would indicate that the family moved from Pendleton to Highland after the birth of Susan, but before the birth of Daniel. (Every family file I saw has this location wrong.)
On March 17, 1856 Elizabeth married Aaron Wimer in Virginia. He was the son of Philip Wimer, Jr. and Mary Ann Hoover. The family migrated to and settled in Kansas. By 1900 Elizabeth had given birth to 11 children, with six still living.
