FORT SCOTT - Elaine Norma Pool, 77, of Fort Scott, formerly of Bronson, died Saturday, May 8, 2004, at Mercy Health Center in Fort Scott.
She was born Dec. 9, 1926, to Clark and Esther Blagg Johnson.
She was a 1944 graduate of Bronson High School. She worked at Western Insurance Co.
She was a 50-year member of Bronson Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 65, where she held every office. She also served on the state level as Grand Esther in 1981 and 1982. She was a member of Bronson United Methodist Church.
She married William Louis Pool on April 19, 1944, at Bronson. He survives of the home.
Additional survivors include two sons, Steve Pool of Penokee and Mike Pool of Fort Scott; two sisters, Virginia Riekmann of Richland, Wash., and Martha Stifter of Warner Robbins, Ga.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Kurtz.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bronson United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ron Bumstead officiating. Burial will follow in Bronson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cheney Witt Bronson Chapel. Eastern Star memorial services will be conducted during visitation at 7:30 p.m. Friends may call until 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cheney Witt Fort Scott Chapel or after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bronson Cheney Witt Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel.
