Obituary for Mr. Charles Rivers Mitchell
Mr. Charles Rivers Mitchell, age 72, passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, August 21, 2020 at his residence in Marks, MS surrounded by family. A Graveside Service is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25, 2020 beginning 1:00 p.m. at Marks Cemetery located in Marks, Ms. Interment to follow at the Cemetery .
Rivers was born on January 25, 1948 and grew up in Marks. In 1970, he joined the army and served in Vietnam with the 11th Armored Calvary Regiment. Returning from Vietnam, he attended Delta State University and majored in accounting and finance and worked for Standard Industrial Corp. in Clarksdale, MS until he retired in 2011. He loved his family and his many friends and will be greatly missed by all.
Rivers is survived by his brother in law, Bob Arentson of Jackson, MS; his niece Kristen Richardson and husband Jonathan and their sons Ryder & Reeve of Hot Springs, AR; and niece Kari Cross and husband Adam and their daughters Katie & Allie of Bicester, United Kingdom.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim & Margaret Mitchell, one brother, Jim Mitchell and one sister Peggy Mitchell Arentson.
