Rebecca Ruth Cowan, of Wellston, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord and Savior in Heaven on August 17, 2020 at the age of 54. She was born January 9, 1966 in Neuerburg, Germany to Paul Wayne & Deva Louise (Watson) Moore.

Rebecca attended Restoration PCG Church in Shawnee. She enjoyed shopping and working in the yard. Rebecca enjoyed listening to Gospel music. She was a night owl and enjoyed watching TV shows with her grandchildren and she also enjoyed watching Cotton Providence. Rebecca enjoyed cooking and was known for her homemade yeast rolls and homemade cinnamon rolls. Brian said his mother made the best fried chicken and her niece, Crystal said her aunt made the best sausage gravy.

Rebecca grew up in Meeker and attended Meeker High School. She was employed at Mobil Chemical and Eaton Corporation. She was also a homemaker and was the president of the Spina Bifida Association. Her daughter, April was born with the birth defect and Rebecca made it her mission in life to assist new mothers whose children were born with this birth defect. Rebecca held fundraisers to assist children and their families to have family outings.

She was a very loving kind-hearted woman with an outgoing personality. Rebecca was very loyal and dedicated, and in 2000, the Shawnee Police Department awarded her with a certificate for her outstanding citizenship for assisting the police in making an arrest. She never met a stranger. Crystal said her aunt was very humble. She was a hard worker and a wonderful homemaker. Rebecca was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. Her first love was her Lord and Savior and spending time with her husband, Kenneth, her children, her family, and especially her grandchildren.

Rebecca is survived by her husband of 32 years, Kenneth Cowan, of the home; her son Brian Cowan, of Norman; her daughter, Brooke Cowan, of Shawnee; 3 grandchildren, Jaidon Cowan, Kinsley Cowan, and Boston Cowan; her mother, Deva Louise Moore, of Meeker; 1 sister, Tena Clemons & husband, Royce, of Meeker; and a host of other loving family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Paul Wayne Moore; her daughter, April; and maternal grandparents, Lester & Ruth Watson.

Visitation will be held from 12pm-4pm, Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Living Waters Tabernacle, located at 341197 US Hwy 62, Meeker, OK. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 24, 2020 at Living Waters Tabernacle, with interment to follow at New Hope Cemetery, in Meeker, OK. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, Moore, OK.
