Floyd J. R. Davis, Checotah resident, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 80. He was born on Saturday, September 2, 1939 to Johnny and Effie (Dunback) Davis in Greenleaf, OK and later moved to Lancaster, CA. In 1957, he graduated from Lancaster High School. He started his own tree service business where he worked for many years. In 1987, he married Becky Jean Finch and in 1994, they moved to Checotah, OK. Floyd loved to fish especially with his brother -in-law, Jack. He loved his family and they loved him. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Sherman Davis, Herschel Davis, and Eugene Davis; his sisters, Katheryn Sisk, Goldie Wasserman, and Yvonne Davis. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Becky Jean Davis of Checotah; his sons, Gregory Fred Gates and his wife Mary of Castle Rock, CO, and Floyd Brian Davis of Colorado Springs, CO; his daughter, Cinthya Marie Davis and Randall Sorrell of Checotah, OK; his grandchildren, Ryan Gates, Kyle Gates, Katie Gates, Tyler Davis, Nicholas Davis, Kaleigh Davis, Clayton Davis, and Hanna Davis. Floyd is also survived by his sisters, LaDonna Gately of Choctaw, OK, and Ellen Hale of Spencer, OK, and his loyal dog, Skip as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and a lifetime of friends.
