Robert ''Bob'' Andrew Blazis, 53, of Springfield, formerly of Petersburg, died at 12:40 a.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2001 at Memorial Medical Center in the emergency room. He was born June 5, 1948 the son of John A. and Isabelle Luishes Blazis in Springfield. He married Mary Hagen Wood and she survives.
He graduated from Griffin High School, Springfield College of Illinois, and Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville. Mr. Blazis was a certified public accountant for the Illinois State Board of Education from 1972-2001. He was a member of the Illinois C.P.A. Society, American Institute of Public Accountants, and a past member and President of Shambolee Golf Club. He was also a member and Past President of the Panther Creek Country Club.
His father preceded him in death in 1991. He is survived by his wife: Mary Blazis; a son and a daughter; a step-son and a step-daughter; mother Isabelle Blazis; brother John Blazis, Jr.
Funeral Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
