Milton Louis Surcouf, Jr.; age 79, a retired flooring salesman, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2010. He was born on Saturday, November 29, 1930, to the late parents of Adeline Maher Surcouf and Milton Louis Surcouf, Sr..
Milton was a parishioner of St. Benilde Catholic Church, a member of the St. Benilde's Men's Club, Chers Amis and Holy Name Society. He proudly served as a Sergeant in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, receiving the Korean Service Medal with four Bronze stars, United Nation Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Milton was survived by his beloved wife Muriel Yost Surcouf; children Michael Thad Surcouf (Lisa), Laura Surcouf Lewis (Craig), Sheela Anne Surcouf, Holly Surcouf Clark (John), Bryan Gerard Surcouf and Phyllis Mary Surcouf; siblings Thomas F. Surcouf, Sr., Adeline S. Jaeger, Warren M. Surcouf, Sr. and Edward H. Surcouf.
Milton was also survived by his grandchildren, Scott Alan Lewis, Chelsea Anne Lewis, Amy Elizabeth Clark, Shelby Marie Clark, Matthew Bryan Clark, Samantha Anne Clark, Aidan Joseph Clark, Madelyn Rose Clark and Lucas Milton Surcouf along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Milton was preceded in death by his son Milton Louis Surcouf, III and brother Robert Milton Surcouf, Sr..
Relatives and friends were invited to attend the Funeral Mass at the Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Friday, October 15, 2010. Interment was at the Lake Lawn Park. A contribution to the St. Benilde Capital Improvement Fund, 1901 Division St., Metairie, La. 70001 was suggested in lieu of flowers. The family guestbook was available at www.lakelawnmetairie.com.
