Victor Ringelstetter was born on March 16, 1925, at the home farm in Upper Wilson Creek in Spring Green Township, Sauk County, Wisconsin, the 4th child of Herman and Mary (Lehner) Ringelstetter. He was baptized on March 22, 1925, at St. Luke's Church, Plain, Sauk County, Wisconsin, by Rev. Paul Monarski. His baptismal sponsors were his uncle Joseph Lehner and his aunt Anna Lehner Ringelstetter. In December 1944, Victor enlisted into military service at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a World War II veteran, he worked as a mortar crewman in the US Marine Corps and served in the Asiatic-Pacific area from September 11, 1945 to October 1, 1946. He participated in the occupation of China from February 19, 1946 to September 4, 1946. When he returned from the war, he found his family had moved to a farm in North Bristol in Dane County, Wisconsin. In 1947, he played baseball on a team called Bristol Blues in East Bristol. On September 22, 1948, he married Margaret Schiess. He worked as a foreman at Gisholt Machine Company in Madison, Wisconsin, for several years. About 1960, he owned Vic & Marge's tavern located on the northwest corner of Highways V and N in North Bristol. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time on his property in Bear Creek Township. He will be remembered for his woodworking talents and his ability to fix anything. He was survived by his wife, five children, eight grandchildren, and siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Mark and Louis, and two sisters Irene Durst and Mary Alice Schroud.
