He, along with his wife of 59 years are the founders of Los Olivos Mexican Patio, a restaurant that has been in downtown Scottsdale since 1949. Alvaro in his younger years loved to golf, loved to dance, loved music and the guitar and loved to travel all over the world. How could we forget how much he liked to party! The last trip before his final trip was to the Carribean with thirty-three family members. Those who were close to Alvaro knew that he was a fighter, a survivor and had a deep spiritual faith in God. He was a member of L.U.L.A.C. so we all know how strongly he felt of his heritage. He, along with his brothers helped build the first Catholic Church in Scottsdale. For many years he belonged to OLPH. He instilled in his children that life was not rich unless you had family. His family and what he has left behind are his greatest achievements. He now is with his mother, father and son, Alvaro Jr., who died unexpectedly earlier this year. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elena, his daughters Ruby Corral-Peck and husband Tom Peck, Maria "Chispa" Corral-Ramirez and husband Claudio Ramirez, his son Johnny and wife Margarita and youngest son Hector. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and they all reside in the Scottsdale area. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many. Dad we will always love you. Visitation will be from 5 PM to 7 PM Wednesday, Sep. 12, with a Rosary following at 7 PM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 7655 E. Main St., Scottsdale. A celebration of his life will be observed at the Church at 10 AM Thursday followed by interment at Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale. Arrangements have been entrusted to Messinger Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Alvaro's memory to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014 or to the Old Adobe Mission, c/o OLPH, 7655 E. Main St., Scottsdale, AZ 85251.
