Nettie Smith Rites Held In Albion
Funeral services for Nettie Mae Smith, 87, of Albion, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday (today) at the Nale's Funeral Home, of Albion, with Rev. Don Frantz officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith died at 11:40 a.m. Monday at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
Way-Fair Patient
She had been a resident for the past nine months at Way-Fair Restorium before being admitted to the hospital one day prior to her death. She had previously resided in the Rest Haven Nursing Home of Albion, for three years, the family said.
She was born Nov. 12, 1894, the daughter of Andrew and Frances Isabelle (Weaver) Shehorn.
Mrs. Smith was first married to Jesse Grubb Dec. 13, 1911, and he preceded her in death in 1930.
She next married Arch Smith, who served 12 years as Edwards County Clerk. He preceded her in death in 1948.
Mrs. Smith worked as a cook for the Edwards County High School at Albion for many years.
She was very active in earlier years in both civic and social activities in the Albion area and served as a past president for the Albion Womans Club.
Mrs. Smith was a member of the Albion First Christian Church.

Survivors include one step-son, Clayton Smith, of Dallas, Tex.; two nieces, Mrs. Virgil (Wilma) Harrell, of Fairfield; and . . . ; three nephews, Earl Shehorn, of Fairfield; Everett Shehorn, of Dixon and . . . .
