My great grandaunt.
Born in Saline, Miller County,Missouri.

Daughter of Edward Belshe Hinds & Martha Spalding (Married in 1902).
She had one full sibling, a brother, Ovid Hinds, born in 1904, as well as many half siblings.

Carrie married James Benjamin Hodge March 6, 1920 in Miller Co. Missouri. There were 17 children from this marriege.

Carrie Mae Hodge, 89, Eldon, Mo., formerly of this area, died Dec. 7, 1992, in a nursing home in Eldon. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bible Way Church of Eldon; burial in the Spring Garden (Mo.) Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Griswold-Kays Chapel, Eldon. Mrs. Hodge was born in rural Miller County, Mo., and lived in Eldon most of her life.

She also lived in Kansas City for two years. She formerly worked at Tweedies Shoe Factory and Kolbs Motel and Cafe, both in Jefferson City. She was a member of the church. Her husband, James Benjamin Hodge, died in 1977. Survivors include three sons, Benny Hodge and Truman Hodge of Eldon and Tommy Hodge, Olean, Mo.; seven daughters, Jean Koons, Blue Springs, Myrtle Eth and Ruth Lathrom of Warsaw, Mo., Mary De Moss, Overland Park, and Katherine Novo-Gradac, Gloria Jeter and Linda Vaughan of Eldon; 41 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
