Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Officer Tamarris Leon Bohannon, DSN 11458, started his career with the police department as a civilian recruit in training on 06/13/2016. Officer Bohannon received his commission on 01/05/2017, and graduated from the academy. Officer Bohannon's uniformed assignment was in the 2nd District on 01/09/2017. During his short career Officer Bohannon received an Award of Excellence on 02/22/2018 for police work above the call of duty. Officer Bohannon served a total of 3.65 years of faithful and dedicated service to the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

Officer Tamarris Leon Bohannon, DSN 11458, was shot in front of 3731 Hartford Avenue after responding to a call for a shooting on 08/29/2020. Officer Bohannon and another uniformed officer were both shot during this ambush . Both officers were rushed to area hospitals, with Officer Bohannon going to Saint Louis University Hospital. Officer Bohannon died of his wounds on 08/30/2020.

Bohannon leaves behind his wife, Alexis Bohannon; three children, Tamara Bohannon, Ayden Bohannon, and Tylor Bohannon; parents, Alfred and Elizabeth Bohannon; in-laws, Arthur and Charlotte Lunceford; siblings, Quentin Bohannon, Shayna Bohannon, Marcos and Tiffany Bautista; special uncle who was like a brother, Jamar and Tierra Bohannon; aunts and uncles, Russell Houston, Clinton Bohannon, Anthony and Doneisha Bohannon, Michael Bohannon, Rodney and Jeanette Standard; sisters-in-law, Amber Lunceford, Jennifer Lunceford, Jessica Lunceford, Kim Dobbs, Jeffery and Aisia Chandler, Corwin and Charlena Watson, Jaythia Towns; special brother-in-law, Christopher and Sekia Lunceford, Percy and Adrienne Sutherland; a host of great-aunts and uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, family, friends and a very dear friend Kevin Dang.

Saturday, September 5,2020 from 6:00pm - 10:00 pm at the Cathedral Basilica 4431 Lindell Blvd.

Funeral:
Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 2:00pm at the Cathedral Basilica 4431 Lindell Blvd

There will be a procession on Sunday, September 6,2020 from Serenity Funeral Home 1905 Union Blvd. to the Cathedral Basilica.

A repast will be held immediately after the funeral at the Electrician’s Hall 5850 Elizabeth
