Mr. Nelson Ray Penn age 76 of Americus passed away Friday, February 14, 2020. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2020 in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services. Members of the family will officiate the service.
Mr. Penn was born June 5, 1943 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He was the son of the late Marvin Ray Penn and the late Helen Kathleen Nelson. He retired from the United State Navy after 40 years of service. He was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen West (Jamie) of Hopkinsville, KY; two sons and daughters-in-law Patrick Allen Penn (Alice) of Knoxville, TN and Glenn Edward Penn (Tina) of Panama City, FL. Two sisters and a brother-in-law Luana Gaspard (Michael) of Youngstown, FL and Dona Elene Musgrave of Union City, GA and five grandchildren, Susan Ray Penn Blevins, Shelby Dalton West, Patrick Alex Penn Jr., Rana Mia Penn and Christian Paige and one great grandson Braxton Blevins also survives. He was preceded in death by his wife Sidney Conger Penn and a sister Annett Diane Vezinat.
