Tommy Ray Lind, 57, Richfield, passed away Nov. 22, 2005, in Provo.

He was born Sept. 29, 1948, in Richfield and spent his growing up years here. When he was 18, he was drafted into the Army and served two tours of duty, one in Vietnam and one in Germany. While working at NORAD, he met Bernadette Rose Dowling and they married Aug. 19, 1971, in Duluth, Minn. The marriage was solemnized in May 2004, in the Manti LDS temple.

Tommy was always willing to serve, especially with the burial honors to be given to fallen brothers in the military. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good joke.

He loved his family and thoroughly enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren. Tommy was well loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Bernadette, Richfield; children, Rulon William (Emily) Lind, St. George; Thomas Warren (Candice) Lind, St. George; Marva Heather Lind, Richfield; eight grandchildren; mother, Flora Lind, Richfield; brothers and sisters, Neeta M. Lind and Jeffery L. Fillerup, San Francisco; Spencer J. Lind, Twin Falls, Idaho; Nathan E. Lind, Salt Lake City; and Naomi J. (Michael D.) Turner, Richfield.

He is preceded in death by his biological father, Harry Butler Sr.; adoptive father, Rulon Lind; and brother, Harry Butler Jr.

Funeral services were Nov. 26, in the Richfield LDS 8th ward, with Mark Jensen officiating. Compassionate services were provided by the Richfield LDS 8th ward Relief Society.

A family prayer was offered by Emily L. Lind, (daughter-in-law), and the invocation was given by Phil Jorgenson, (friend).

Prelude music was performed by Linda B. Ogden, (friend), and postlude music was performed by Anne C. Ogden.

Musical selections included "How Great Thou Art," by Nicole Ogden, (niece), and Naomi J. Turner, (sister), accompanied by Anne C. Ogden; "I Need Thee Every Hour," by John Patey, (friend), accompanied by Brad Whittaker, (friend); a congregational hymn, "God Be With You," accompanied by Anne C. Ogden and directed by Corwin F. Ogden.

A tribute was given by Emily L. Lind, (daughter-in-law), and speakers included Jason D. Ogden, (nephew), and Dr. Thomas D. Rose, (friend). Remarks were offered by Mark Jensen and Rod Hinck.

The Benediction was given by Candice A. Lind, (daughter-in-law).

Serving as pallbearers were sons, Rulon W. Lind and Thomas W. Lind; nephew, Jason D. Ogden; brother, Nathan E. Lind; brothers-in-law, Michael D. Turner and Kenyon D. Ogden; and friends, Christopher Whittaker and Jim Puzey.

Interment was at the Richfield Cemetery with military rites accorded by the V.F.W. Sevier Post #5050 and the Richfield Unit of the Utah National Guard, and the dedicatory prayer given by Jason D. Ogden, (nephew).
