The remains of Mrs. Lelia Bailey Holcomb, of Purvis, wife of Mr. J. R. Holcomb, were brought here Monday evening by her husband, accompanied by her sister-in-law, Mrs. G. C. Robertson, of Hattiesburg; a sister, Mrs. Rogers, of Jackson; Mrs. S. V. Robertson and Lamar Robertson, of Hattiesburg and Wirt Adams Rogers, of Jackson. The remains reposed last night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Robertson and were taken to Jackson this morning by Mrs. Rogers and Mr. Holcomb. The interment was at 2 o’clock this afternoon in that city, the girlhood home of the deceased.
Mrs. Holcomb was the daughter of Dr. Bailey of Jackson, and was married in the Presbyterian church there about 18 years ago, her married life, most of it, being spent in Purvis. She leaves besides her husband, five children, Richard, Thelma Albert, Leroy and Earl, and three sisters, Mesdames Rogers, of Jackson; Sherrill, of Colorado and Palmer, of Colorado.
Never very strong, Mrs. Holcomb had traveled extensively to Colorado and various places in search of health, but her final illness lasted only a month.
