Lloyd Kay Adams was born on May 2nd, 1930 in Salt Lake City, UT to Loyd Hyrum Adams and Nettie Jean Griffiths. Young Lloyd and his mother, 'Jean' moved to Southern California around 1934 where he eventually graduated from Santa Monica High School in 1948, then joined the US Navy. He married Mary Louise Gerber on September 18,1954 and they had seven children. After Mary's death in 2011, he married Miyako (Sakamaki) Smith on April 13, 2013.
