Nancy (Leehan) Flanagan, 90, of Butler Street, Pittston, died Monday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Ann (McCanna) Leehan. She was a 1929 graduate of St. Ann's Academy, Wilkes-Barre, and graduate of Scranton State Hospital School of Nursing. She completed additional studies in nursing at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh. She was a visiting nurse in Pittston, until retiring in 1973. She was a member of St. John's Evangelist Church, Pittston. She was active in community affairs as a Red Cross volunteer nurse through 1994 and with St. Ann's Alumni. She was the first woman licensed as a pilot at the Wyoming Valley Airport.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; and brothers, Eugene, Frank and Gerald.
Surviving are her son, John; daughter, Nancy J. Cooney, Jenkins Township; and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Adonizio Funeral Home Inc., 251 William St., Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church.
