MR. BAILEY MANCIL BOYD, age 90, of Bryceville, Florida, died in Jacksonville, Florida, on Tuesday, October 28, 2003, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Sanderson, Florida, the son of Bailey Mancil Boyd, Sr., and the former Selina Fouraker-Boyd. Mr. Boyd was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Bryceville, where he served as a deacon.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Lula Boyd; three sons, Cryton (Doris) Boyd of Bryceville, Florida, Jimmy (Terri) Boyd of Callahan, Florida, and Malcolm (Roberta) Courson of Lake City, Florida; three daughters, Mary (Bobby) Goolsby of Bryceville, Florida, Gwen (Charles) Lueders of Jacksonville, Florida, and Merele (Billy) Hurst, also of Jacksonville, Florida; two sisters, Cassie Axtell of Bryceville, Florida and Inez Coleman of Sanderson, Florida; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 31, 2003, at First Baptist Church of Bryceville, with the Reverend Richard Fish and Reverend Danny Boyd, officiating. Interment followed in Verdie Cemetery, Bryceville, Florida, where he was laid to rest by his first wife, Nellie Blount-Boyd, who died in 1976. Graveside remarks were by Reverend Joey Rountree. The family received friends Thursday, October 30, 2003, at the First Baptist Church of Bryceville, Florida from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Arrangements were by Prestwood Funeral Home, 270 U.S. 301 N. Baldwin, Florida.
