Ms. Folks died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community.
She was born Nov. 8, 1919, in Highlandville, Mo., the daughter of William A. and Julia J. Luttrell Melton.
Ms. Folks was an executive assistant at Kansas University for 30 years. She was the employee of the year in 1995 and retired in 1996. She was a member of Westside Presbyterian Church and Mount Oread 309 Eagles Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, Thomas Hanna, Garland, Texas; a daughter, Lois Weldon, Lawrence; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
