She was born May 10, 1900, in the Walnut Creek community near McLouth, the daughter of Martin and Rosa McDaniel Garrett. She lived in the McLouth community for 60 years.
Mrs. VanDruff was a member of the United Methodist Church, Alcione Chapter No. 266 of the Order of Eastern Star and Ladies Auxiliary to Williams - Kessinger Post No. 393 of the American Legion, all at McLouth.
She was married to Cornelius R. VanDruff, Oct. 27, 1922 at McLouth. He died March 18, 1964. A son, George VanDruff, was killed in action in military service in 1945 and a daughter, Mrs. Carol Fernandez, died Aug. 7, 1973.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Rose Balao, McLouth, Mrs. Vera Annis, North Little Rock, Ark., and Mrs. Clarice Dick, Perry; two sisters, Mrs. Opal Johnson and Mrs. Edyth Austing, both of Colorado Springs, a brother, Paul Garrett, Boise, Idaho, nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
