Anchorage homemaker Anne Elizabeth Barrett , 63, died Dec. 17 at Our Lady of Compassion Care Center after a lengthy battle with heart disease and diabetes. A funeral will be 1 p.m. today at Kehl's Forest Lawn Chapel. Sister Patricia Collins of Our Lady of Compassion Care Center will officiate. Burial will follow at Angelus Memorial Park.

Ms. Barrett was born Sept. 11, 1931, in Boston, Mass. She was a graduate of Framingham High School in Framingham, Mass. She had been a resident of Anchorage since May 1951. In the early 1960s, she worked for the Kut Rate Kid. In the 1970s, she was employed by Safeway Liquors. Ms. Barrett was a member of Holy Family Cathedral and her hobbies included sewing, reading and listening to music. The family said, " Anne grew up in Boston, Mass., married and moved to Alaska in the early 1950s. She worked in Anchorage during the 1960s and survived the Alaska 1964 earthquake. She will be remembered and loved by her family and friends."

Ms. Barrett is survived by her daughters- and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Warren Bumgarner, Michelle and Lloyd Shanley and Theresa and Billie Joe Dutton, all of Anchorage, and Elisa and Dr. William Heagy of Eagle River; her ex-husband and lifelong friend, William of Hope; her grandsons, Carlton and Elijha; and her granddaughters, Danielle, Melissa, Amanda, Stephanie, Jessie and Rhema. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2330 E. 42nd Ave., Anchorage, 99508. Arrangements were by Kehl's Forest Lawn Mortuary & Crematory.
