SHARON L. AKER, 69, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, at Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, she was a homemaker. She was known as a perfectionist, wonderful cook, strong woman of faith, excellent seamstress, and took care of others before herself especially her family. Maui was her favorite vacation spot holding many fond memories. Survivors include spouse, David Aker of Fort Wayne; sons, David (Debbie) Aker of Fort Wayne and Don (Joanne) Aker of Portsmouth, R.I.; sisters, Shirley (Les) Kerr of Fort Myers, Fla. and Barbara (Dennis) Hogan of Rome City; brothers, Bernard "Buck" (Diane) Maldeney of Fort Wayne and Robert (Sandra) Maldeney of Huntertown; and grandchildren, Lani, Josh, Chad, Daniel, and Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Helen Youtsey Maldeney. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior. Fr. Mark Gurtner officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Memorials to Scleroderma Foundation or Masses.
