A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Thurman and Minnie Caldwell Davis.
In addition to his parents, Dan is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Jean Carver Davis; and three brothers, Ben Davis, Glenn Davis, and T. Frank Davis.
He had a great love for bluegrass music and reveled in attending live performances. Dan was an avid Florida State Seminoles and Carolina Panthers football fan.
Dan is survived by a son, Terry Davis, and his wife, Lee Phillips Davis; and a grandson, Eric Davis, all of Decatur,GA.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on September 13, 2020 at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park.
