Albert graduated from Amherst College with honors and taught two years in Lincoln, Illinois. After he graduated from Yale Divinity school, he was a Minister of the Congregational Church of Wakefield, Massachusetts for eleven years.
He moved to Pomona, California and was Minister of the Pilgrim Congregational Church there for five years during which time he met and married Irna Irene Baughman in an elaborate church wedding.
He was a pioneer leader in Pilgrim Place, a retirement community in Claremont, California and served for thirtyone years as executive secretary and president.
At the time of Albert's death he had one daughter surviving, Mary Dorothea Davis of Pasadena, California.
