James Thomas "Jimmy" Gray, 75, was born on April 28, 1928 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Mr. Armel Gray, Sr. and Mrs. Mamie L. Travis Gray. On Saturday, October 12, 2013 in Lexington Memorial Hospital Jimmy peacefully went home to be with the Lord.

In 1955 Jimmy joined the United States Air Force. As an Airman, Jimmy served faithfully in South Dakota until 1959. After serving his country Jimmy worked relocated to Columbia, South Carolina and retired as an Auto Salesman.

Jimmy was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather.

Jimmy was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela K. Gray; three brothers, Barney E. Gray, Wilburn D. Gray, and Armel Gray, Jr.; and one sister, Anna L. Nix.

Jimmy leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 52 years, Alice C. Gray; two sons, Keith (Kim) Gray of Hampstead, NC and Jamie (Meg) Grey of Columbia, SC; two daughters, Lisa Dixon of Columbia, SC and Shirley (Mike) Powers of Owensboro, KY; three sisters, Mary Finley, Norma Renfrow, both of Owensboro, KY and Dorothy (Vaid) Robinson of Hamlet, IN; ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
