Hugh Jeffrey "Jeff" Dougherty, president of N.D. Meyer Co. of Philadelphia, died of natural causes Monday. He was 32 and lived in Ivyland, Bucks County.

Dougherty began working for the municipal bond brokerage firm in 1989. A graduate of the George School in Newtown, he received his degree from the University of Maryland in 1988.

He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. At the time of his death he was in the process of obtaining his private pilot's license. He also enjoyed traveling and was a gourmet cook.

"He had a lot of friends. He loved to talk and listen," said his sister, Amy Swanson. "He didn't have a mean bone in his body."

Dougherty was a member of Delta Epsilom fraternity, the Municipal Bond Club of Philadelphia, the Shawnee Club and the Torresdale-Frankford Country Club.

Survivors also include his parents, Hugh M. and Beverly Pike Dougherty, and his maternal grandparents, William and Eleanor Pike.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Joseph A. Fluehr Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road, Richboro, where friends may call

after 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Richboro.

Contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
