Heinrich Carl Rudolph Hans von Specht emigrated to Texas in about 1845 from Braunschweig, Niedersachen, Germany. He soon settled in Comal County, near Spring Branch, and married Lisette Schmidt in 1851.

He is considered one of the early pioneers of Comal County.
