In 1948, Millie married Willard R. Crabtree and they had one son, Steven Mark. As a young Navy wife, she traveled the world with her husband and son, living three years in Japan and finally settling in Petersburg, Virginia. After 28 years of marriage, Millie and Willard separated.
Millie worked as a library technician for the federal government at Ft. Monroe, VA before she retired. After retirement, she moved to Midlothian, VA where she remained until her death.
Millie loved the flowers in her yard and watching the beautiful birds at her numerous feeders. Home decorating was a great joy to her, so she loved shopping to find treasures for her home.
She was a gracious and beautiful person, and will be greatly missed by all of her family.
A memorial ceremony was held Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd. in Richmond, VA. She was cremated and her cremains were taken to Tennessee to be buried with her father, mother and sister.
