Glenn B. George,88,of Falling Spring Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center,Chambersburg, and formerly of 334 S. Main St.,died at 9:33a.m. Tuesday,March 7,2000, in Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Dec. 10, 1911,in Quincy,he was a son of the late Curtis L. George and Stella M. Binkley George Koons.
He was a member of Open Door Church,Chambersburg.
For more than 25 years, he worked at TB Wood's Inc. of Chambersburg,from which he retired.
An avid hunter,he also enjoyed writing poetry and playing music.
Marie I. Detrich George, his wife,died on March 7,1988. A brother, a sister and two stepbrothers also preceded him in death.
Surviving are a son,Glenn E. of Chambersburg;a stepson,Wesley Cool of Shippensburg;two grandchildren; a stepgrandchild;two brothers,Kenneth E of Chambersburg and Russell M. of Shady Grove;a sister,Janet(Mrs. Martin) Newcomer of Waynesboro;two step-sisters,Naomi Doll of Hagerstwon,Md.,and Ruth Plum of Martinsburg,W.Va.; a stepbrother, George Koons of Greencastle;nieces and nephews.
Services will be private. The Rev. Arthur Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Fayetteville.
Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home,Inc. Chambersburg.
