She was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church, Altar Sodality, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxillary and the O'Fallon Senior Citizens. Eleanor was an avid bingo player, being a regular on Sundays at the Knights of Columbus Hall, or playing at various locations such as the VFW or in Shiloh. Eleanor began her employment at Bank of O'Fallon on April 24, 1978. Through the years, she worked in many of banks various departments. Eleanor , or Ellie as she was known, was a dedicated employee. Although never retiring, the last day Ellie worked was Aug. 26, 2004, the day she became hospitalized.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Victoria, nee Foudl, Sidel; husband, John R. Dove Sr.; a son, John R. Dove Jr.; two brothers, Adolph and Victor; two sisters, Mary and Josephine.
Eleanor is survived by a son, Charles W. and Peggy Dove of Boulder, Colo.; four grandchildren, Diane Cada of Colorado Springs, Colo., Brian and April Dove of Longmont, Colo., Kristin Dove of Boulder, Colo., and Michael Dove of Longmont, Colo.; five great-grandchildren, Bethanni, Brittany and Alex Dove , all of Thorton, Colo., Nicole Cade and Jordan Cade of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a niece, Kathleen Jaworski; special friends, Marie and Jim Johnson of O'Fallon, Ill.; and many dear friends and coworkers at the Bank of O'Fallon.
Funeral mass was on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005 at St. Clare Catholic Church with Father Jim Deiters officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Shiloh, Ill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Clare Catholic Church.
