Mr. Ernest “Ernie” Arthur Allen, age 74, of Adairsville, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2020 at Floyd Medical Center.
He was born in Muskegon, Michigan, March 27, 1946, son of the late Ernest Bert Allen, II and Eunice Evelyn Barona. Mr Allen was of the Baptist faith and a jack of all trades. Although he grew up in Michigan he was a true cowboy. He loved classic country music, going to concerts, riding horses, attending rodeos, and even enjoyed clogging. Ernie will be dearly missed by his family friend. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 33 years, Geneva Hall Allen; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Survivors include his children, Dana (Michael) Edwards of Reese, MI, Denise (Thomas) Diedrich of Lupton, MI, Michael (Jenny) Allen of Saginaw, MI, Carmen (Michael) Bridges of Calhoun, GA, Robbie Christina (Derek) Pierce of Calhoun, Joyce Friend of Marietta, Trisha and Walter Ruff of FL; sister, Judy (Ron) Guilfoil of Cadillac, MI, and Cheryl Church of Lewiston, MI; brother Bruce (Lynn) Allen of Haslett, MI; 25 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Following Covid19 guidelines with social distancing graveside services will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville with Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will include Derek Pierce, Michael Bridges, Michael Edwards, and Zachariah Connor.
